REALTOR® Honoured with Community Builder Award from United Way Ottawa

On May 13, 2014, Kent Browne, Broker/Owner of Royal LePage Gale Real Estate and Royal LePage Team Realty, received a big surprise at the companies’ Annual Denim Day Company Breakfast and Charity Auction. Two representatives from United Way Ottawa crashed the party to honour Kent with a Community Builder Award for his extensive charitable work.

Kent is a third generation auctioneer who conducts over 35 charity auctions and galas in Canada annually at his own personal expense and time, and accepts no payments of any kind. Some organizations that benefit include the Ottawa Hospital and CHEO.

He supports children and women’s shelters and charities through his work, including the St. Joseph’s Women Centre, the Cornerstone Foundation and the Chrysalis House.

Although his children have long graduated, Kent continues to chair St. Paul High School’s only charity auction to raise funds that help St. Paul students with their annual mission to help children in the Dominican Republic.

Kent, his family and his team at Royal LePage proudly support hundreds of events and organizations. Some near and dear to Kent’s heart include Camp Trillium, the Snowsuit Fund and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Kent will be honoured at United Way Ottawa’s annual Community Builder Awards ceremony next spring. His name will be inscribed on the Wall of Inspiration alongside all other recipients of the award. Located in Jean Pigott Hall at Ottawa City Hall, the Wall of Inspiration acts as a visible reminder to residents and visitors of the enduring commitment that these individuals and organizations have made to Ottawa.
