Sing Yeo Believes in Giving Back

For many years, Sing Yeo, Senior Vice-President of Royal Pacific Realty, has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Greater Vancouver communities by spearheading and organizing numerous events for health, cultural and social charities. He also sits on CREA’s REALTORS Care® Foundation Board of Directors.

“Giving and helping others is what drives me,” said Yeo. “I’m proud to be a REALTOR® and the charitable work that I and Royal Pacific do is under the umbrella of REALTORS Care®. To come to the aid of people in need is what REALTORS Care® truly means and what we all strive to stand for.”

Yeo and his company have contributed money and time towards countless activities and many worthy causes.

Yeo chaired an event that raised $90,000 toward the purchase of a state-of-the-art digital mammogram by the Tapestry Foundation. The Tapestry Foundation was created to better serve the needs of patients and residents at hospitals and other facilities run by Providence Health Care in Vancouver.

Sing has also helped raise money for genetic and oncology research at the BC Children’s Hospital by creating the Royal Pacific Endowment Fund. To date, $35,000 has been raised “to help put smiles back where they belong.”

The May 12th earthquake that hit the Chinese province of Sichuan killed an estimated 70,000 people and left over 374,000 injured and over five million people homeless. Through the Sichuan Earthquake relief fund, Royal Pacific Realty collected $12,000 through its offices and $18,000 was donated by individuals within the company.

For the past 23 years, Royal Pacific Realty has fielded a team to help raise funds at the annual S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Walk with the Dragon fundraising event. S.U.C.C.E.S.S is a B.C. based agency that promotes the well being of all Canadians and immigrants by offering programs and services in employment, social services, business and economic development, health, and training and education. Sing also sits on its Board of Directors. The Walk with the Dragon event was held this year on July 20 in Stanley Park and, for the third consecutive year, Sing was the top personal fundraiser.

“This year I had the privilege and honour of being part of the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Board of Directors and subsequently being co-chair of the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Walk with the Dragon event,” said Yeo. “This initiative was to raise funds for women, youth, senior and family services for our communities. The overwhelming turnout contributed to us surpassing our target goal and raising a total of $540,000.”

The Tapestry Foundation, BC Children’s Hospital, the Sichuan Earthquake relief fund and S.U.C.C.E.S.S are all thankful to have hard working volunteers like Sing Yeo to help and support essential causes.
