Baseball, barbecue and business buddies were the recipe for a memorable day that benefited charity. On September 8, Sutton Group – Professional Realty, Keller Williams Select Realty, Royal LePage Atlantic and Remax Nova held a softball tournament in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Through team fees, food sales and direct contributions, the event raised close to $1,000 for charities including the PAWSAbilities Rescue Society.
“This tournament started a year ago when Sutton had the great idea to have some fun with other brokerages all for a good cause,” says Jennifer Morrison, the Managing Associate Broker at Sutton Group – Professional Realty and one of the organizers.
“It is now an annual event with REALTORS® already excited about next year. A highlight is the barbecue—it’s just agents breaking bread together in the spirit of fun and giving. In a world of technology, it’s great to get face-to-face with the agents you deal with on a regular basis.”
Keller Williams Select Realty who won the tournament and graciously divided the prize money among the four teams.”
Sutton Group – Professional Realty donated their funds to the PAWSAbilities Rescue Society, which saves as many animals as possible. The society is currently working at rescuing pitbulls in Montreal following a recent ban of the breed. To support their initiative, click here to be directed to the PAWSAbilities crowdfunding page. As of October 4, they are over $11,000 of their $15,000 goal.
With the help of caring volunteers, PAWSAbilities fosters animals, arranges adoptions and takes them for veterinary care including spay and neuter procedures. This rescue group was established in January 2016 by REALTORS® Jennifer Morrison, Anthony Carter and Cory McNutt along with Abby Khalek and Tyler Lightfoot.
