Seeing the specialized wheelchair swings and the pool designed for children living with disabilities left a lasting impression on Century 21 Dome Realty Chief Operating Officer Nolan Tabashniuk.
“Seeing that swing… Some of the kids have never experienced anything like that in their lives and it stuck with me,” he says from his Regina, Sask., office.
REALTORS® at Century 21 Dome Realty were recently given a tour of Camp Easter Seals in Watrous, Sask., to show them how the funds they raise help better the camp. While there, the REALTORS® lent a helping hand in cleaning and getting the camp ready for its summer visitors.
Tabashniuk says there were about 32 REALTORS® helping out on the day they visited – 20 from his own office.
“We tried to reduce the burden on their groundskeeping staff and pitched in with handling the yard cleanup, clearing the paved paths between cabins and with anything else they need,” he says.
Some of the funding for the camp comes from the provincial government, but that money is limited. That’s why Tabashniuk is happy to report his office raised more than $76,000 for Camp Easter Seals last year.
“We’re extremely proud to help,” he says. “This day is something we look forward to every year.”

Camp Easter Seal is the only completely wheelchair accessible camp in Saskatchewan. It’s situated at picturesque Manitou Beach near Watrous, and is surrounded by lush wooded slopes and the beautiful Manitou Lake. Children – and adults – are able to swim, go boating, ride horses, take part in cook-outs, go on wagon rides, participate in talent shows and do campfire activities.
The Easter Seals is the charity of choice for Century 21.
