Life-long animal advocates, Jennifer Morrison and Anthony Carter, spent many years volunteering for various rescues in Nova Scotia and the experience awakened them.
The plight of unwanted dogs and cats inspired them to take action and within a year they co-founded PAWSAbilities Rescue Society along with Abby Khalek, Tyler Lightfoot and fellow REALTOR® Cory McNutt.
Their goal was to create a non-profit, volunteer organization that aims to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home neglected, abused and abandoned domestic animals. They have a dedicated group of volunteers, many of whom are REALTORS®, who assist with fostering, screening adoption applications and transportation to vet appointments. They are truly overwhelmed with the outpour of love and support from the community.
PAWSAbilities is on track to becoming a local leader and model in the animal welfare community. Since opening Jan. 1, they have re-homed more than 15 dogs and seven cats, saving the, from unwanted situations. They have had numerous spay/neuter surgeries performed to combat pet overpopulation, and eventually plan to provide an array of innovative outreach and education programs bringing people and animals together to enrich each other’s lives.

It is a registered, non-profit organization comprised of a group of dedicated volunteers. Their mission is to provide Nova Scotia and area with an alternative animal rescue organization. They are dedicated to enhancing the welfare of all animals that come into their care. They provide these animals with every opportunity to live long and healthy lives by fostering and finding forever homes.
