Royal LePage Performance Raises $35,000 for Shelter Foundation

It took just three short hours on December 7, 2015, for the entire team at Royal LePage Performance Realty’s Bank Street office in Ottawa, Ontario, to raise $35,000 in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.

The auction committee worked in advance of the office’s annual luncheon and fundraiser to obtained dozens of donations from local businesses for the silent and live auctions. More than 100 items were featured in the live auction alone. Valerie Brousseau stepped away from her usual role as manager of training and business development to fill in as auctioneer. 100% of the funds raised will be directed to shelters in the Ottawa area serving women and children seeking shelter from domestic violence.

“I’m always touched by the spirit of giving and incredible generosity of this team in support of local shelters,” said Royal LePage Shelter Foundation executive director Shanan Spencer-Brown, who kicked off the auction expressing her gratitude and giving a nod to three Royal LePage Performance agents who participated in the recent ‘Machu Picchu Challenge for Shelter’ fundraiser. “While it’s sad to think of those women and children who are spending the holiday season in a shelter, it’s heart-warming to see how committed everyone here is to helping them rebuild their lives.”
