Victoria, British Columbia, is known for its mild weather, but for the homeless population nights on the streets in heavy rain and wind can be devastating. The downtown Our Place Society provides meals, shelter and amenities to those in need, and works hard to raise extra funds over the winter months to keep doors open later into the night. Longer service hours provide people more opportunity to stop in to the facility to dry off, warm up and share a nutritious snack.
To help Our Place stay open later into the evenings, the REALTORS® of Victoria through the Victoria Real Estate Board donated $2,000 to Our Place’s Out of the Cold Campaign and dropped off dozens of pairs of warm and dry winter weight socks.
Please help support the Out of the Cold campaign. Visit the Our Place website for more information.
