As Tony Browton and Krista Martin-Dempster of Sutton Group – West Coast Realty in Gibsons, British Columbia, have driven around their coastal community showing properties and meeting with clients, they have noticed the need for benches at bus stops, frequently seeing children and seniors either standing or sitting on the ground. As part of their “get by giving” philosophy, Tony and Krista are donating one bench for every house that they sell.
“So far we have supplied 10 benches and have another eight on order,” says Tony. “We have had a great first year and are hoping that by the end of next year we will be able to supply a bench to every bus stop that needs one from Langdale to Upper Gibsons. We love living on the coast and huge part of that is the people. This was a way we thought of to give back.”
Tony and Krista invite people to let them know of locations that would benefit from seating by sending them a note through their Facebook Page.
Both of these REALTORS® are enthusiastic about contributing to their community. Tony dedicates more than 20 hours each month to coaching basketball and soccer. As a volunteer firefighter for the Gibsons Fire Department, he participates in frequent training sessions and emergency calls. In 2013, Tony was pleased to be able to contribute $4,926 to the Westminster House Recovery Centre for Women.
