REALTORS® from Greater Saint John took some time to be kids again at this year’s childhood-themed Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser. EXIT Realty Specialists, Coldwell Banker, and CENTURY 21 all hit the lanes in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Saint John REALTORS® raised over $5,000 for the event through pledges collected by the participating teams, and through donations raised by REALTORS® at the Saint John Real Estate Board annual mixer.
“We’ve participated in this event the past few years and it’s always a great time,” said Exit Realty Specialists Manager Barry MacDonald. “I’m told this year’s most memorable moment was the look on my face when I realized my entire team of ladies beat me!”
Big Brothers Big Sisters is a mentoring program that matches volunteers with children in need of a role model. These relationships empower children to reach their full potential by enforcing good values and the importance of education.
Bowl for Kids’ Sake is the organization’s largest annual fundraiser. The money raised at this event goes towards the cost of operating the program. This includes careful screening of volunteers and matching them with a little brother or sister.
REALTOR® Andrew Baskin of Coldwell Banker was happy to have the chance to share this event with his daughter, Melody. “As a father, I strive to be a positive role model for my little girl,” said Andrew. “I’m happy to support an organization working to provide mentors to children who may otherwise not have that positive influence in their life.”
