As grade eight graduates across Regina bid farewell to elementary school, 66 of them have something extra to celebrate. The Association of Regina REALTORS® Inc. (ARR) has honoured one grade eight student from each of the city’s public and Catholic elementary schools with the REALTORS® Citizenship Award. The award recognizes young people who demonstrate an exemplary commitment to their school and community.
“Regina has such a spirit of giving and that spirit is being passed on from generation to generation. Our members raise their families here, too, and we want to recognize and thank these young leaders for making Regina an even better place to call home,” says ARR Executive Officer, Gord Archibald. “Fast forward a decade or two, and you’ll see these students continuing to make a difference.”
The ARR introduced the REALTORS® Citizenship Award in 2012 as a lasting legacy of its 100th anniversary and as part of its Quality of Life program, which encourages the building of better communities. Each school selects its own recipient according to citizenship values consistent with the grade eight social studies curriculum and those of its school division.
More than three dozen local REALTORS® presented the awards at grade eight graduation ceremonies throughout June. Congratulations to all of the deserving recipients!
