REALTORS® Raise Over $8,000 with Intimate Dinner for Shelter

Each year for the past three years, Nancy Gossling, Kim Kennedy, and Fionna Gossling of Royal LePage Real Estate Services Ltd. in Oakville, Ontario, have hosted an intimate dinner party for female friends, clients, and acquaintances. It’s a relaxing evening for enjoying a home-cooked meal, building friendships, and also an opportunity to help abused women and children in their community.

The 3rd Annual Dinner for Shelter took place September 26, 2012. Nancy, Kim, and Fionna lovingly prepared a dinner in Kim’s home for more than 50 friends and clients. There was no raffle, no silent auction, and even no requirement for guests to donate, and yet this year’s dinner raised over $8,000 for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, which will benefit a local shelter in the community – Halton Women’s Place.

Over the past three years, Nancy, Kim, and Fionna have raised over $20,000 in total with their event. They are already looking forward to next year’s dinner.

“I encourage other people to do it because it’s very rewarding,” says Nancy. “Keep it very simple. It’s a very stress-free evening for everybody. Keep the dinner simple. People appreciate that there’s no pressure to donate. We like to keep it intimate and always have it in our homes. It’s a really nice social time.”
