The Windsor-Essex County Association of REALTORS® is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1918 with a current Membership of 854 REALTORS®. Their REALTORS® are very proud supporters of community organizations who must rely on charitable donations to offer their services to the general public.
Throughout 2012, their fundraising events raised over $78,800. Recipients of the funds raised from their Annual Charity Gala and Silent Auction in 2012 were Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital ($12,500.00) and Leamington District Memorial Hospital ($12,500.00), the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County ($9,800.00), and various other local charities.
In addition to their annual fundraising events, Windsor-Essex REALTORS® contribute on a day-to-day basis and have established a fund through the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation, that provides a source of funds to those communities that are in need of general, as well as emergency funding. In 2012, their members raised approximately $10,000 through the Foundation.
Contributions were made throughout the year to: Willistead Manor, the Ontairo REALTORS Care® Foundation, Alzheimer Society, Autism, Transition to Betterness, Canadian Burn Foundation, REALTORS® Motorcycle Ride for Charity, Canadian Diabetes Association, Dragon Boat Races, We Care for Kids, Richard Morris (who was in an fatal accident), Easter Seals, Katelyn Penner for medical treatment, Children’s Aid, NAR – REALTORS® Relief Foundation, NAR New York Funding, Windsor AAA Pewee Minor, Windsor Wild Cats Adam A Hockey, Lakeshore Food Bank, Downtown Missions, Leamington Kingsville Good Banks, Windsor Homes Coalition, and the University of Windsor Golden Key Club, Well-Come Centre for Human Potential, Family Respite Services and Hiatus House.
