In 2012, the members of Muskoka Haliburton Orillia – The Lakelands Association of REALTORS® (currently undergoing a name change from REALTORS® Association of Ontario Lakelands) provided much needed assistance to designated charities in their local communities through participation in the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation. The following organizations were grateful recipients sharing in a total of $16,342 of financial assistance last year:
- Cottage Dreams Cancer Recovery Institute, Haliburton ($2,190);
- YWCA Women’s Centre, Haliburton ($4,097.33);
- Chrysalis, Huntsville ($4,097.33);
- Interval House, Bracebridge ($4,097.33);
- Couchiching Jubilee House, Orillia ($930); and
- Green Haven Shelter for Women, Orillia ($930).
“As a Haliburton-based REALTOR®, I was very proud of the donations to the YWCA and Cottage Dreams programs last year,” says Andrew Hodgson, Broker/Owner with Century 21 Granite Realty Group Ltd. “The monies will have a real impact on our small community and were very much appreciated.
