Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services held its 3rd Annual Charity Halloween Chili Bowl on the afternoon of October 24, 2012 at Burlington Bowl to raise money for Halton Women’s Place and The Carpenter Hospice. The Charity Halloween Chili Bowl is the major Fall fundraising event of Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services’ annual fundraising campaign. This year, just over $2,000 was raised.
“We have the good fortune to live in such a wonderful community which has given so much to us that we can’t help but want to give back,” said JoAnn Jusdanis, Broker/Owner of Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services. “A home should be a place of safety, security and comfort. Sadly, this is not always the case. That is why we’re committed to helping support Halton Women’s Place and The Carpenter Hospice.”
Approximately 125 people attended the event to bowl, which included Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services’ Sales Representatives, administrative employees, and community sponsor partners. Many of the participants dressed up in Halloween costumes with prizes being awarded for Best Team Theme, Best Individual Costume, Best Bowler and Worst Bowling Technique. “Deeply committed to helping the community in a variety of ways, Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services’ unique team spirit makes raising funds a very pleasurable experience for everyone involved,” said Rebecca Ryder, Broker of Record.
Over the past nine years, Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services has raised over $196,000 in support of Halton Women’s Place and the Carpenter Hospice and they will continue to contribute to the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation by organizing and holding fundraising events throughout the year.
Halton Women’s Place is the only women’s shelter in the Halton Region and will provide a safe haven, information and education to support a future without abuse for women and their children. Halton Women’s Place staff responds to more than 2,500 crisis calls per year with more than 1,000 women and 1,300 children accessing their services every year.
The Carpenter Hospice provides individuals suffering from a terminal illness and their families with high quality palliative care in a home-like setting, meeting their physical, emotional and spiritual needs and making the last days of their lives together peaceful, comfortable and meaningful, making it one of the most special homes in the community.
