On May 10, 2012, 30 REALTORS® from Keller Williams Lifestyle Realty – London went to Gibbons Park to plant 50 trees, clean up graffiti, and dispose of some trash. Wearing scarlet t-shirts with the brokerage’s signage, Jack Lane and Christine Cecchetto were two of those participating in the company’s RED (Renew, Energize, and Donate) Day.
“It’s a day of giving back to the community,” Jack Lane said. “We do fundraisers throughout the year, but this is not about raising funds, this is about physically getting out there and doing something to contribute to the community.”
Christine Cecchetto emphasized that events like this are good for both the city and the environment. “The City supports ReForest-London’s Million Tree Challenge initiative,” she said. “On the same note, we wanted to give back and to raise awareness among consumers that REALTORS® really do care about the communities [we] live in.”
Each year, on the second Thursday of May, tens of thousands of associates from Keller Williams brokerages from across the United States and Canada participate in RED Day and devote their time to renewing and energizing aspects of the neighbourhoods in which they serve.
