REALTORS® and staff from Exit Realty Specialists in Saint John and Rothesay bundled up for an afternoon of skating to promote mental wellness. The team raised over $1,000 for the 25th annual Skate to Care event, in support of MindCare NB.
MindCare NB is New Brunswick’s only mental health foundation. It is dedicated to improving the lives of Canadians affected by mental illness and eliminating the stigma attached to it. Skate to Care is one of the foundation’s biggest annual fundraisers. Proceeds from this event will go towards funding research, improving patient care, and providing education and community outreach programs that increase understanding.
“We had a great time while supporting a great cause,” said REALTOR® participant Laura Peacock. “With one in five Canadians affected by mental illness to some degree, we felt it was important to participate,” Peacock added. “For our team, it was not just about raising money, but raising awareness.”
