Saint John REALTORS® gave generously to a REALTORS Care® Mitten Drive in support of local organizations that provide resources to needy kids and expectant parents.
Members demonstrated the true spirit of the season at this year’s Board Holiday Mixer, where children’s winter items rolled in by the box load.
Over 200 pairs of mittens and gloves, along with hats, scarves, coats, and socks, were collected and donated to the Crescent Valley Family Resource Centre and the Saint John Family Resource Centre. Both community-based organizations provide programs, education, and resources to the children, teens, and caregivers in their areas.
“After learning of everything these organizations do for the residents in their communities, we really wanted to do something to help,” said Saint John Real Estate Board President, Jason Stephen. “No child should be cold in the winter. We are proud to support such a great cause.”
Saint John REALTORS® delivered the items in time for the Centres’ annual holiday parties, which offered local families an afternoon of holiday fun, warm meals, and gift bags of warm items for the winter. “With limited funding, we rely on partners in the community,” said Anne Driscoll, Executive Director of the Crescent Valley Family Resource Centre. “We are very grateful for the donations from these caring REALTORS®.”
