Three Saint John Real Estate Board members recently played important roles in supporting those in need, both by raising funds and donating blood.
On October 1, REALTOR® Stefan Cormier and a team of neighbours and friends raised an astounding $50,000 for a friend, Les Phinney, who is undergoing treatment for lung cancer. Stefan’s volunteer team organized a car show and a barbeque followed by a dance and a silent auction. Over 500 participants attended.
Earlier in the fall, REALTOR® Laura Peacock led a group of volunteers in organizing a benefit dance and silent auction in support of the Curtis family, whose two-year-old son suffers from congestive heart failure. The event raised over $8,000 to help offset the costs relating to multiple surgeries and ongoing care.
The staff and REALTORS® of Fundy Bay Real Estate rolled up their sleeves to show they care by donating blood. Following a staff meeting on October 17, the entire office headed down to NBCC St Andrews to participate in a Canadian Blood Services blood drive. “Giving blood requires minimal effort, but it makes a huge impact,” said Fundy Bay Real Estate Manager Leona Golding. “Just one blood donation can save up to three lives.”
