The Association of Regina REALTORS® Inc. is providing $7,500 to the North Central Community Centre.
Today Association President Lane Boghean presented the $7500 cheque to Sandy Wankel, Executive Director with the North Central Family Centre. The funds will be used to support the centre’s Youth Empowerment Program, which works to both “beautify” the neighbourhood, and make it safer for residents.
“We are really pleased to be able to support such a great program. Because we are so involved with neighbourhoods at the community level, REALTORS® really care about the health of Regina communities. Programs like the North Central Community Centre’s Youth Empowerment program really helps to strengthen neighborhoods and makes them more attractive, and safer for residents,” said Boghean.
Many of the neighborhood youth take part in the program on an ongoing basis. The youth participants cut grass, paint fences and dumpsters, pick up garbage, shovel snow and recently have started painting murals upon request.
“We really want to thank Regina REALTORS® for their support of this program. They have been providing us with funds to support the program for the past 6 years. With their support, the program really has made a difference, both to our youth and our community,” Sandy Wankel, Executive Director with the North Central Family Centre.
Regina REALTORS® raised $2,500 for the program in the Association of Regina REALTORS® Inc.’s annual golf tournament. The remaining $5,000 was donated from the Association’s annual operating budget.
