Two company-wide annual yard sales in Greater Saint John area raised funds for two very worthy causes in May.
On May 14, the Royal LePage Atlantic office in Saint John took part in the national Yard Sale event. All nine Royal LePage Atlantic offices raised a total of $11,425. Nationally, RLPA raised $386,000 this year.
Funds raised in Saint John were directed to Hestia House, a local shelter that provides a safe, supportive environment and opportunities for change to women and their children who are victims of family violence.
On May 28, RE/MAX Professionals Saint John hosted a “Yard Sale for the Cure,” raising just over $2,100 from the sale of donated items, 50/50 tickets, barbeque items and children’s games. All proceeds went to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Canada’s leading volunteer organization dedicated to a future without breast cancer.
Despite a rainy day, everyone was in good spirits and enthusiastic, attracting yard sale customers with balloons, banner, and even a furry mascot.
