In support of Oncology and Genetics research, the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) presented the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation with a cheque for $125,138 during the 2006 BC Children’s Hospital Miracle Weekend in early June.
“Every year, all across Canada, REALTORS® raise millions of dollars and dedicate countless hours to various charities and community causes,” said Georges Pahud, REBGV Past President. “Over the past four years, members of our board have raised over $400,000 for the BC Children’s Hospital. We want to thank our sponsors and advertisers – financial institutions, developers, real estate companies, individual REALTORS® and volunteer staff throughout the Lower Mainland – who have collectively made such huge contributions to BC Children’s Hospital possible,” Pahud added.
In 2005, $110,124 was raised at the Board’s largest fundraiser, REALTORS Care® Night. The remaining funds were raised through a direct mail campaign that reached out to 8,500 members of the REBGV and the general public.
“We’ve partnered with the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation because these children need and deserve our support,” said Sing Yeo, chairman of the REALTORS Care® Night Taskforce. “We care about children and we are working hard to help put smiles back where they belong.”
