On April 11, Sutton Group-Select Realty Inc. became the proud recipient of the Community Service Award organized by the London & St. Thomas Real Estate Board.
Bruce Sworik, Broker of Record with the office, received the award in recognition of the office’s invaluable contribution to various charities. Both the President of the London & St. Thomas Real Estate Board and the Mayor of the City of London presented the award.
Since its inception in 1992, the company has organized an annual charity golf tournament through which substantial funds were raised and donated to organizations in the community. In 2005, the contributions were directed to the Alzheimer Outreach Services of McCormick Home.
The office spends six months diligently organizing the event each year. Considerable funds are accumulated through silent auctions, raffle tickets and generous corporate sponsors. Last year, the office raised an impressive $8,284.92. Sutton associates from the office along with clients, family and friends enjoy a day of golf, delicious food and prizes.
“Working hard, organizing the tournament and playing a day of golf is a lot of fun, but the most gratifying moment is presenting the cheque to our designated charity.” Said Sworik, who is also Vice President of the London & St. Thomas Real Estate Board.
The golf tournament sells out year after year. A total of 112 participants are expected to attend the event in September 2006. This year’s proceeds will be donated to the Easter Seals Camp for children with disabilities. In the past, charities of choice included various Cancer, Alzheimer and Bipolar Kids organizations.
