For Easter Seals kids, the independence and confidence gained at a fully accessible summer camp extends far beyond the week they’re there. To encourage REALTORS® to get involved, those who raise over $2,100 each year are now inducted into the CENTURY 21® Kids to Camp Club and receive the CENTURY 21 Golden Heart award. The club’s mission is to provide more kids with life-changing camp memories by increasing awareness and inspiring fundraising within the company’s offices.
Club members also connect with a camper who will share their own personal experience, giving REALTORS® a firsthand story of their donation’s impact.
“I think the Kids to Camp Club program will make a huge difference in the lives of those with disabilities all across the country. One person raising $2,100 is an amazing gesture of generosity,” said 15-year-old Brandon Liston, Easter Seals National Ambassador. “That amount actually pays for one camper’s total camp experience – and that experience will change their life forever!”
The first five Kids to Camp Club members were celebrated last week:
Chiyoko Kakino, CENTURY 21 Canada, Vancouver, B.C.
Allan Zunec, CENTURY 21 Bamber Realty Ltd. Calgary, AB
Nadine Beaucage, CENTURY 21 Bamber Realty Ltd. Calgary, AB
Julie Vesuwalla, CENTURY 21 Bamber Realty Ltd. Calgary, AB
Stephen Chow, CENTURY 21 Atria Realty Inc. Toronto, ON
Easter Seals will highlight each club member on special installations at their local camps and nationally in the organization’s annual report. As well, members receive invites to special Easter Seals’ events as honourary guests.
“It’s inspiring to see the passion our CENTURY 21 organization across Canada has for helping Easter Seals families nationwide. This dedication to helping others is heart-warming and so very important to recognize,” said Martin Charlwood, vice chairman and CEO of CENTURY 21 Canada. “On behalf of the CENTURY 21 Canada head office team, thank you to all club members. You are truly making a difference in the lives of these incredible kids!”
Since 1979, CENTURY 21 System members around the world have supported local Easter Seals families through fundraising and volunteering. To date, they have contributed over $111 million. Last year alone, CENTURY 21 offices across Canada raised over $650,000 for Easter Seals.
