CIR REALTY has announced the winners of their “In My Backyard” contest. The following four organizations will be receiving a cheque for $5,000:
- The Confederation Park 55+ Activity Centre
- The Stampede City Gymnastics Club Facility (pictured above)
- The Youth Singers of Calgary
- Aquaponics and Sustainable Agriculture Initiative
The Aquaponics Club decided to pay it forward and donate $2,500 of their winnings to the Drop In Centre’s Garden for the Homeless.
Groups were able to submit entries in four categories – Locally Registered Non-Profits; Community Facility Improvement; Youth Extracurricular Activities; and Local Sustainability and Conservation. Entrants had to submit a photo and a brief description to the contest online and members of the public were asked to vote online for their favourite cause.
“There are many ways REALTORS® can choose to spend their advertising dollars. This year, they decided to spend those dollars on the people in the communities they serve,” explains Kirsten Faverin, Marketing Manager at CIR REALTY. “There is no better feeling than seeing the impact we have made on these four groups. $5,000 makes a BIG difference.”
