Norma Barber, REALTOR®, Owner and President of CommVest Realty Ltd. and Quality Property Management in Grande Prairie, Alberta, has fostered a culture of giving at her brokerage. Each year, employees are assigned a month. During that month, they are able to choose a different charity or cause for the company to support – through gifts of time, money, or requested items.
Last year, charities and causes their team supported included Compassion, Toys for Tots, the Grande Prairie SPCA, Odyssey House, Rotary House, PineRidge Adventure Camp, Grande Prairie Hospice Palliative Care Society, and a local family in need.
Norma is a busy broker, but still found time to volunteer at least 300 hours of her time last year to charity. Norma is also the Founder of Inspired by Vision, an organization that connects philanthropic funders with charitable endeavours, and provides office space to charitable and non-profits free of cost.
As Associate Broker Amanda Hentges explains, “[Norma] embodies ‘to whom much is given, much is required’ and is a personal hero of mine.”
