Recognized for 20 years of giving back to his community, Jeff Stacer of RE/MAX Shuswap Realty in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, is the 2014 recipient of the REALTORS Care® Award for the Shuswap Zone of the Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board (OMREB).
Many REALTORS® continue to give of their time, funds and expertise, and this is the eighth year OMREB’s Shuswap Zone has recognized the exemplary efforts of its members by awarding annual REALTORS Care® Awards. The announcement was made at the Zone’s Annual General Meeting on December 3, 2014.
“Jeff Stacer is a very worthy recipient of this award, and is being recognized by his peers and acknowledged by residents of the community,” notes Salmon Arm REALTOR® Tara Gallant, Chair of OMREB’s Shuswap Zone Executive. “His diligent support for local fundraising efforts and ongoing commitment to non-profit organizations in the Salmon Arm area is commendable.”
She adds, “Jeff exemplifies those REALTORS® who have made long-term contributions to the communities in which they live and work, and are committed to being actively involved in making a difference.”
Jeff tirelessly donates his time, energy and donations to ensure the success of numerous local fundraisers and international projects as an outstanding active member of the Salmon Arm Daybreak Rotary Club, and plays an integral role in the sponsorship of many community organizations in need of financial support.
A long-time volunteer and fundraiser extraordinaire for the past two decades, Jeff is known for going “above and beyond.” He continues to generously support and sponsor at least 16 not-for-profit organizations in the Salmon Arm area – Salvation Army, SPCA, Scouts, Shuswap Association for Community Living, Haney Heritage Society, Friends of the Library, Shuswap Theatre, Salmon Arm SAFE Society, Shuswap Association for Rowing and Paddling, Lady Striders, Canada Day Children’s Festival, Salmon Arm Christmas Train, SASS Band and Grad, and many more.
Jeff also regularly participates in the RE/MAX Yard Sale for the Cure, and Children’s Miracle Network. He offers the extensive use of his Team moving truck to assist various annual events, community associations, and families in need.
“Congratulations to this year’s REALTORS Care® Award recipients in our Board area and to all 2014 nominees for being good public citizens, and truly caring about their local and global communities,” says OMREB President and working REALTOR® Darcy Griffiths. “It is amazing to see the diverse ways our members give back, the leadership they take and the good example they set for others. Their community spirit remains undeterred.”
As the Okanagan-Shuswap moves towards further economic recovery and market stability, local REALTORS® look forward to continued involvement in their communities during the coming year.
