On August 18, 2012, the team at Sutton Group – Lakefront Realty hosted their 3rd Annual Show n’ Shine in Vernon, British Columbia, and raised $3,000 for the local Habitat for Humanity chapter. Each year, this event draws vintage/sports car and motorcycle enthusiasts from near and far. This past August, for every vehicle brought to the Show n’ Shine, Sutton Group – Lakefront Realty donated to the Vernon Chapter of Habitat for Humanity in the name of the vehicle owner. Attendees were also treated to a bicycle tuning tent, bouncy castles, face painting, and ice cream.
“We are pleased to be helping to raise money again this year for this essential and thoughtful non-profit,” said Beth Marks leading up to the event. “As REALTORS®, we see the need for affordable housing and are particularly supportive of Habitat for Humanity’s methods to help those who are willing to invest sweat equity and money into a home. We admire our hardworking citizens aiming to house their families in a property they can call their own.”
The Vernon Chapter of Habitat for Humanity was founded in 2007 with the goal mobilizing volunteers and community partners to build affordable housing. In 2010, they completed their first project at 4100 25th Avenue in Vernon. Events such as this Show n’ Shine raises hundreds of dollars to help make the dream of home ownership a reality for families in need.
