With their arms full of bright, yellow daffodils, the team from Sutton Group – Lakefront Realty helped to make deliveries of daffodils to numerous donors in the Vernon area. They joined thousands of other volunteers across the country who participated in fundraisers during Daffodil Month, which is April. The flower deliveries in Vernon raised approximately $12,000, which is substantial for this community of 40,000 people (a total of 58,000 in Greater Vernon).
Funds raised throughout Daffodil Month help the Canadian Cancer Society support Canadians living with cancer, advocate for public policies to improve health and finance research into cancer prevention. This charitable organization also offers the innovative CancerConnection service, which connects people living with the disease with trained volunteers who listen, offer encouragement and share ideas for coping—all from their perspective as knowledgeable, empathetic, cancer survivors.
Sutton Group – Lakefront Realty was proud to once again join in the Canadian Cancer Society’s daffodil campaign. This is their second time participating.
“We like to be part of the community meeting people as well as supporting a worthwhile cause,” says Broker Tamara Cinnamon. Her office is very community-minded having organized charitable bowl-a-thons, free outdoor movie nights, Habitat for Humanity fundraisers and more.
