Royal LePage Coast Capital Realty’s Modern Real Estate team recently hosted the fourth annual fundraiser in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, to great success.
Ninety guests attended the event, which was held on September 23 at the Swans Hotel and Brewpub in Victoria, British Columbia. Attendees enjoyed an elegant cocktail party and silent auction in support of four local women’s shelters: Victoria Women’s Transition House, the Cridge Centre for the Family, Sooke Transition House Society and Margaret Laurence House. In just a few short hours, $7,000 was raised for the cause.
“This was a record-breaking year for us,” said co-organizer Saira Waters. “We were delighted to have Marlene Goley from Cridge Transition House speak about how the money raised for their shelter impacted one young woman who was fleeing a violent situation. Her story touched everyone’s hearts.”
Funds raised at this year’s event will help Waters meet her $10,000 personal fundraising commitment to the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation in support of her participation in the upcoming Iceland Challenge for Shelter, a fundraising trek scheduled to take place in July 2017.
