With their “sleighs” piled high with food and gifts, the team at Sutton – Premier Realty made the holidays brighter for 18 local families. On Saturday, December 20, 2014, they delivered personalized gifts to parents and children as well as enough food to provide a delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner on Christmas Day. The office raised $8,000 for the Surrey Christmas Bureau’s Adopt-a-Family program with silent auctions, poker nights and other fundraisers throughout the year.
“This was our largest donation ever to the Surrey Christmas Bureau,” says REALTOR® Janis Stretch. “It was wonderful to see the kids’ faces light up when we arrived with all those boxes and baskets of gifts and food!”
This holiday project is also rewarding for the donors at Sutton – Premier Realty. “Each sales associate chose a family from a list provided by the Surrey Christmas Bureau and budgeted $400 to $450 per family. They then called the parents personally and speak to them about their food and beverage preferences and the children’s wish lists.”
Sutton Realty Services co-owner Scott Shaw and the head of Franchise Relations, Rick Taron, were pleased to join in the festivities on December 20, 2014. The morning began with a hot, homemade breakfast prepared by REALTOR® Neru Johal then everyone loaded up their vehicles to make deliveries to the families.
The team at Sutton – Premier Realty, with help from many of their spouses and children, will be helping out Santa again next year!
The Surrey Christmas Bureau is a non-profit, charitable organization operated largely by volunteers to assist low-income families in Surrey each Christmas. Their Adopt-a-Family program matches sponsors with low-income families who have children 16 years of age or younger. Sponsors provide Christmas breakfast, lunch and dinner and gifts for the family. The recipients include children who have special needs.
