Breakfast Programs throughout School District 2 are getting some much needed support from the Greater Moncton Real Estate Board. To kick off the partnership, a cheque for $2,000 was presented to Carole Murphy, Community Schools Coordinator for School District 2 by board president Paul Burns. These funds will help local schools provide nutritious breakfasts to local students. District 2 administers English-language schools in southeastern New Brunswick.
“The members of the GMREB are very pleased to be able to make this first donation to the Breakfast Program. We feel that assisting children to reach their full potential is a great investment in our community’s biggest asset,” Burns said.
Karen Branscombe, Superintendent for School District 2, is grateful for the support. “Proper nutrition is key to learning and it has long been held that breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” Branscombe said. “I applaud the Greater Moncton Real Estate Board for identifying the need to support our students through the provision of a healthy breakfast.”
