May was a successful month for two Saint John Real Estate Board company yard sales in support of two great causes.
On May 12, REALTORS® from Royal LePage Atlantic in Saint John joined other Royal LePage offices across the country to participate in the National Garage Sale for Shelter. This one-day garage sale event in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation is Canada’s largest fundraiser exclusively for women’s shelters. Over 130 offices raised over $400,000 to support local shelters and stop the cycle of violence against women and children.
All of the $600 raised in Saint John was donated to Hestia House, a local shelter that provides a safe and supportive environment for the victims of family violence.
On May 26, RE/MAX Professionals Saint John continued their fight against breast cancer with their annual “Yard Sale for the Cure.” The event was a big success, bringing in $2,700 from the sale of donated items. All the money raised went to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to fund research for finding a cure.
“It’s amazing to see the public support this event year after year” said RE/MAX REALTOR® and event co-ordinator, Priscilla McQuade. “Breast cancer touches the lives of most Canadians in one way or another so we are proud to be a part of the fight against this disease.”
