Sending children with physical disabilities to summer camp or providing them with mobility aids as well as training and skills development programs such as New Leaf Enterprises are just a few of the opportunities The Abilities Foundation of Nova Scotia provides. This Canadian Easter Seals organization has been assisting children with cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and spina bifida amongst many others. And this past November, the Abilities Foundation of Nova Scotia benefited thanks to the generosity of Century 21 Classic Realty Ltd.
Early in January 2008 at Classic’s annual sales kick off meeting, Nora Landry and Ed Vigneau, founders and co-owners of Classic, and Lynn Murray, REALTOR® and Chairperson of the 2007 edition of the Easter Seals Auction and Fun Night, presented the final cheque to Tom Merriam, President and CEO of the Abilities Foundation of Nova Scotia.
The Easter Seals Auction and Fun Night was held on November 15, 2007 and it raised an incredible $17,001 for the find work being conducted in the Dartmouth community by the Foundation.
Veronica Dale, New Leaf Enterprises’ Program Manager, and New Leaf program member Susan Hire who spoke eloquently about what this program means to her and how much she appreciated the kind donation accompanied Merriam. Classic’s Vigneau and Landry also saluted the outstanding work being done through New Leaf and the other programs supported by the Abilities Foundation of Nova Scotia.
“We are absolutely ecstatic about the results,” praised Murray. “The committee members, agents and staff of Team Classic, our 120-plus sponsor-donors, and the more than 325 people who attended the Auction and Fun Night are sincerely thanked for all they did. We could not have done it without each and every one of them!”
Century 21 Classic Realty Ltd. would like to sincerely thank the thirty plus agents that made this evening possible as well as the hundreds of community members who participated in making this event the huge success it was.
