London’s Adult Eating Disorders Service‘s kitchen and dining area is getting a much-needed renovation thanks to a fruitful donation from the London St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® (LSTAR).

Fulfilling a pledge made in 2015, LSTAR President Stacey Evoy and CEO John Geha presented a $25,000 cheque to representatives of the London Health Sciences Foundation at the association’s last board of directors meeting.

It is their second $25,000 donation to the organization in two years, bringing the two-year total to $50,000.

“We are proud to be a part of making this program available and affordable for those who so desperately need assistance to live healthy and productive lives,” Evoy said.

The Adult Eating Disorders Service was developed to meet the needs of adults who require treatment for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and other specified feeding and eating disorders. It offers a wide range of programming that includes outpatient, day treatment, residential and relapse prevention services.

Earlier this year, the Adult Eating Disorders Service moved into a new home allowing patients to receive their treatment under one roof, as well as increasing the capacity of the intensive support program from four beds to eight.

The $50,000 donation is being used to purchase kitchen equipment and appliances as well as updating the dining area.

LSTAR adheres to a Quality of Life philosophy, supporting growth that fosters economic vitality, provides housing opportunities, respects the environment and builds good communities and safe neighbourhoods. The money donated came from LSTAR’s Business Partners Program, sponsorship, various fundraising events and the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation.

LSTAR is one of Canada’s fifteen largest real estate associations, representing over 1,600 REALTORS® working in Middlesex and Elgin Counties, a trading area of 500,000 residents.
