On July 8, 2015, a group of more than 30 REALTORS® traveled by motorcycle from Toronto to Ottawa and made stops at local Boards and brokerages along the way. As a result, they raised close to $25,000 for a good cause and clearly had a lot of fun doing it.
This trip marked the 10th anniversary of the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation’s (ORCF) Motorcycle Ride for Charity. Since 2006, participants have raised awareness and more than $247,000 for the ORCF, which supports shelter-based charities across Ontario. Over the years, the participating REALTORS® have collectively racked up hundreds of thousands of kilometres and visited every single real estate Board and Association in Ontario.
“The Motorcycle Ride is an inspiring example of how a group of REALTORS® turned their passion into a way to come together and help others,” says Betty Doré, a Director of the Canadian REALTORS Care® Foundation and Past President of the ORCF, who helped welcome the riders at the office of the Ottawa Real Estate Board, the last stop on this year’s trip. “It’s an annual tradition that is truly making a difference for people across Ontario in need of warmth, comfort, and safety. The REALTOR® community should be very proud.”
