After an office meeting where the subject of an older, unwanted car came up, REALTOR® Catherine MacDonald suggested the car be donated to The Kidney Foundation of Canada‘s Kidney Car Program.
“It was great timing actually, as one of my past clients had recently donated their vehicle to this same great cause. Connecting Ian (Charlebois) with Kidney Car was a wonderful way for me to bring individuals together to reach a common goal,” MacDonald said.
The Kidney Car Program is a rewarding alternative for people looking to dispose of their older, unneeded cars. Not only do Kidney Car donors receive a valuable charitable tax receipt for a minimum of $300, their car is also towed for free. Proceeds support The Kidney Foundation of Canada and the delivery of patient services and important medical research.
“Catherine’s suggestion resulted in a positive outcome for everyone involved,” said a grateful and proud Owner Ian Charlebois, who has encouraged his REALTORS® at RE/MAX Citywide to give back to the community that has given them so much. “It’s great to see colleagues making this kind of suggestion to help out causes they believe in.”
Dave Cybulski, manager of the Ontario Kidney Car Program, offered his thanks to Catherine MacDonald for her quick thinking in facilitating a generous donation to Kidney Car.
“We’re always happy when a local business supports Kidney Car,” he said. “And in this case, it was great that Catherine knew about the program and was able to suggest it to Ian, who had an unwanted vehicle. It turned out to be a win for all.”
