On June 23, 2012, the PilonHamilton Real Estate Team held the inaugural PilonHamilton Shootout Fore Roger’s House with all proceeds from the event going directly to Roger’s House in Ottawa. Through the efforts of the PilonHamilton team, the players, and sponsors, they were able to raise over $17,000 for this great local charity.
Highlights of the day included chances to win a trip, a car, a boat, and two chances to win $10K on hole-in-one prizes offered by sponsors. The big highlight of the day was “The Big Shot Shootout,” which was a raffle draw for 10 players to take a shot to win $100K, $250K, and even $1,000,000!
Roger’s House, located on the grounds of CHEO, is a “home away from home” for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. The charity was built in memory of Roger Neilson, Hockey Hall of Fame Coach and Member of the Order of Canada.
“Knowing that we could help children and their families dealing with life-limiting illnesses feel more comfortable and at ease has served as the single biggest motivator throughout the organizing of this event,” explains Leam Hamilton, Partner/Sales Representative. Leam hopes that their event inspires others to contribute in other ways to Roger’s House.
