The REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington (RAHB) is proud to announce that they raised over $75,000 at their annual Christmas charity auction and social thanks to the support from local REALTORS® and the community. The event was held on November 16th at the Michelangelo Banquet and Convention Centre in Hamilton, and the proceeds will be donated to the AM900 CHML/Y108 Christmas Tree of Hope Campaign.
“The response from local REALTORS® and the community was overwhelming this year,” said Diane H. Brown, co-chairman of RAHB’s Charity Auction Ad Hoc Committee. “You can never underestimate the generosity of the people in the Hamilton-Burlington area when it comes to supporting children’s causes,” added Darlyne Mills, co-chairman of RAHB’s Charity Auction Ad Hoc Committee.
Everything from sunglasses to spa packages, teddy bears to toys, holiday getaways to golf packages, clocks to coolers, and anything in between were up for grabs in the silent and live auctions.
Proceeds from the partnership between RAHB and AM900 CHML/Y108 continue to support many local children’s charities throughout Hamilton and Burlington year round. Now in its 18 th year, RAHB’s annual auction has raised almost $500,000 for the charity, making RAHB the single largest contributor.
The CHML/Y108 Christmas Tree of Hope Campaign began in 1976 as a charitable initiative to help raise money for disadvantaged children during the holiday season. The campaign became a legally registered charity with tax exempt status shortly thereafter under the official name of The CHML/Y108 Children’s Fund. Fundraising activities are orchestrated by CHML and its sister station Y108 throughout the year.
