The YWCA Crossroads Shelter One is $2,500 richer thanks to the Ontario Real Estate Association Foundation.
The OREA foundation topped up a donation of $6,700 from the Peterborough and the Kawarthas Association of Realtors, which chose the shelter as its main charity for 2007.
The local association gave proceeds from a charity golf tournament held Sept. 20 at Pine Crest Golf Club near Keene.
The provincial association announced this week it would bring the total up to $9,200.
The YWCA Crossroads Shelter One is a safe and secure shelter for women with our without children. They provide confidential 24 hour crisis and support counseling by phone or in the shelter as well as; food and clothing, legal and court support and information, they assist in helping to find community resources and supports and they offer a children’s program.
