The team at Sutton Group – Signature Realty Inc. recently donated 622 pieces of business attire to the Dress for Success: Bay Street Suit Challenge! Their efforts earned them a first place trophy in the small business category. The clothing they collected supports the career aspirations of disadvantaged men and women in the Toronto area. This is the second year that the women at this office (a.k.a. the Property Divas) have led the charge to gather donations of new and gently-used items for the Bay Street Suit Challenge.
“We began collecting clothing, shoes and accessories after a kick-off meeting in April,” says office administrator Kristine Perko. “The Property Divas helped to coordinate the donations and encouraged fellow REALTORS® to get involved and also ask their clients if they wanted to participate. We are very grateful for everyone’s generosity.”
This year, the Bay Street Suit Challenge brought in approximately 11,000 garments, which is 2000 more than 2014! This annual suit drive encourages fun, fashion and some friendly competition. The goal is to help men and women create a more polished style that gives them a boost up the economic ladder.
On June 18, at the Irish Embassy Pub and Grill in downtown Toronto, the winners of the challenge were announced. The Dress for Success representatives noted that the competition this year was ‘fierce’! The top prize in the small business category went to the Property Divas at Sutton Group – Signature Realty Inc. Broker of Record Mira Tomljenovic accepted the trophy for her group.
