After a month-long Moose naming contest, Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services finally has a name for their fundraising mascot. It’s “Royal LeMoose,” also more casually known by his last name, “LeMoose.”
The Brokerage invited people from all across the country to submit their name suggestions. The top five names were brought to the public for a vote. Royal LeMoose was the top pick with 46% of the vote. Brian Maguire of Burlington, Ontario, submitted the winning name and is now the proud owner of a new Apple iPhone 5.
“We’d like to thank everyone who participated in the contest and helped us name our Moose,” says JoAnn Jusdanis, Broker/President of Royal LePage Burloak. “We had a lot of great suggestions, and we think that Royal LeMoose will suit the Moose and our campaign perfectly.”
The other name choices were: Centennial, for Royal LePage’s 100th Anniversary in 2013; Eddie, after the founder of Royal LePage; Houser, in honour of what Royal LePage Burloak does – “house” people; and Sergeant Shelter, after the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.
Royal LeMoose has become a permanent fixture at the offices of Royal LePage Burloak and will be participating in all of their community and fundraising events in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, Canada’s largest public foundation dedicated exclusively to funding women’s shelters and violence prevention and education programs. “We’re excited to have Royal LeMoose at all of our upcoming fundraising events,” says JoAnn.
LeMoose will be with Royal LePage Burloak for one year before he will be auctioned off to a different Royal LePage Brokerage at next year’s Conference, giving another Brokerage the opportunity to have him in support of their Royal LePage Shelter Foundation fundraising events.
