Royal LePage Performance Realty Supports Local Shelter

This October, Royal LePage Performance Realty presented a cheque for $11,675 to Maison d’amitie (Friendship House). Maison D’Amitie is a French-specific, non-profit organization to support abused women and families in Ottawa. The donation was presented to Melanie Leduc, Executive Director for Maison d’amitie, who explained that the extra funds go directly to help women and children through a variety of methods, including babysitting, car seats, educational toys, cribs and bedding, clothing for the women to help them return to the workforce, dishes, towels, etc. This year they also introduced a new children’s program to focus on the specific needs of young people who have experienced abuse, such as health and cultural services.

Royal LePage Performance Realty is a proud sponsor and supporter of Maison d’amitie, a partnership that is a part of the national Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. The Shelter Foundation is Canada’s largest public foundation devoted exclusively to funding women’s shelters and violence prevention programs. Since it began in 1998, the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation has raised more than $16 million with local brokerages and sales representatives partnering with women’s and children’s shelters in their communities.

Maison d’amitie offers a full-service Francophone hotline for women and children who have experienced violence, as well as ongoing support and an extensive network of Ottawa resources for families in need. Please visit the Maison d’amitie website for more information on the services and support that they offer, or for details on how you can volunteer or make a donation.
