On behalf of the Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Association of REALTORS® (SGBAR), the President of the Association, Kevin Woolham, presented cheques to various local charities representing proceeds of almost $7,000 from the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation – Every REALTOR® Campaign. 2015 recipients were: Home Horizon, Huronia Transition Homes (La Maison Rosewood Shelter), My Friend’s House and Shelter Now.
REALTORS® make a difference by volunteering their time and raising funds for a diverse array of causes and charities close to their hearts. The Every REALTOR® Campaign complements their great philanthropic initiatives. The Association has announced its decision to once again support the campaign in 2016.
“The [Ontario] REALTORS Care® Foundation is the legacy of every REALTOR® in this province,” says Kevin Woolham, President of the Association. “It belongs to all of us. That’s why the Southern Georgian Bay Association of REALTORS® thinks it’s important to support its great work. Together we can make a difference… can effect positive change… and that’s just what our Members will continue to do.”
Each SGBAR Member contributes monthly through the Every REALTOR® Campaign. The Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation acts on behalf of Ontario REALTORS® in funding shelter-related charities across the province. Shelter is defined as a refuge, haven or protection that provides or improves quality of life from hunger, the elements, physical/psychological abuse, disabilities and illness. In 2014, the Foundation was able to provide over $900,000 in grants to more than 200 shelter-based organizations!
“Donations to the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation make a real difference and can change the lives of those who rely on organizations that offer warmth, comfort and safety,” says Woolham. “It’s one of the many ways our local REALTORS® give back to the communities where they live, work and play.”
