With creative thinking and lots of coordination, Sutton Group–First Choice Realty Ltd. raised $6,102 for the Stratford Perth Hospice Project. They held an auction on their Facebook page from May 15 to May 19 using donations from generous individuals and local businesses and followed that up with a booster dinner on May 29 at Boston Pizza. Sutton Group–First Choice Realty Ltd. made a matching contribution to the funds raised at the dinner.

Sutton Group–First Choice Realty Ltd. has previously supported local projects, but this one is special as the community came together to establish a new palliative care facility in Stratford.

“We know so many clients and family members going through sickness and we would just love to see a hospice right here in our city to help,” said Broker Kim Graham to the Stratford Beacon Herald.

Office Administrator Amie Reid offered to take the lead on creating the Facebook auction. She experimented with an online-auction app, then opted for a photo album with comments enabled to allow people to place bids.

Donated auction items included pizza for a year at Boston Pizza, a custom crate table, a handmade wooden bowl, artwork, a spring wreath, a massage, taste and tour at Black Swan Brewing Co., on stage dance birthday party, a princess party from Glitter & Bows Entertainment, and much more. All of the auction proceeds were donated to the hospice project.

The booster dinner at Boston Pizza sold out quickly and $10 from each admission fee was donated to the Stratford Perth Hospice Project, along with the proceeds of the raffle.
