The secret is out.

The team at Sutton Group – Select Realty Inc. has been busy helping London’s most vulnerable citizens. For the past year, volunteers dubbed Sutton-Select Secret Service have brought warm clothing, toys and food to children in need and assisted countless adults requiring emergency assistance, food and shelter.

“As a means to maximize donations, Sutton Group – Select Realty Inc., one of the major sponsors of the London English Football Club, recently partnered with the club as part of our ‘Sutton-Select Secret Service’,” says co-owner Karen Sworik. “We collected warm clothing for Mission Services of London’s winter wear drive. By combining our efforts, we substantially increased our donations.

“This initiative was a huge success. Nick Lindsay and Mat Sharpe of the London English Football Club dropped by the office to pick up the donations received to date. We had more than 125 coats along with hats, mitts, socks, sweaters and other winter wear.”

Nick Lindsay is happy to report, “It is the largest single clothing donation that the Mission Services of London received so far this year. They were taken aback at the volume and quality of items that were collected!”

Last year, the Secret Service team participated in the Mission’s Warm Hands-Warm Hearts outreach program for children. The team has also assisted the Women’s Community House of London, which provides emergency services to abused women and their children. Since it was established in 1978, this non-profit has helped 24,000 people via a 24-hour helpline, emergency shelter and transitional services. Because abused women and children often leave home with few belongings, donors provided toiletries, such as shampoo and toothpaste, as well as sleepwear and socks.
