On Wednesday, April 27, 2013, REALTORS® from HomeLife Power Realty Inc. had a fantastic afternoon sorting food at the Waterloo Regional Food Bank. They also had a chance to tour the facilities during a break.
The food bank supports 78 different organizations in the area who not only feed those in need, but also help provide clothing, shelter, job skills training and more. 3 million pounds of food is donated and processed through the food bank in one year. Typically, about 5% of the Waterloo Region relies on the food bank.
The team at HomeLife Power Realty is particularly excited to be an official site for the food bank’s Dig In program on May 4. This is their annual food drive to collect donations in anticipation of increased need in the summer months. HomeLife Power Realty will be holding a community garage sale that day to raise funds, as well as to collect food donations.
