On December 14, 2011, LSTAR President Jack Lane presented a cheque for $3,500 to Sherene Casey, President of the YWCA Elgin St. Thomas. This grant from the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation will be used to help fund two youth homes – Fair Winds for young men and Harmony House for young women, both of which service youths between the ages of 16 and 24 at risk for homelessness, providing them with support and much-needed life skills training.
The same day, a second $3,500 cheque was presented on behalf of the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation to Donna Pammer, Senior Development Officer with the Women’s Rural Resource Centre for Strathroy and Area. This grant will assist the Centre to provide emergency housing services, counseling, life skills training, and support to abused women and children.
