It was with great pleasure that President Donna Aldous hosted the first annual ASR Charity Golf Tournament in Meadow Lake on June 21. The 18-hole Texas scramble took place at the beautiful Meadow Lake Golf Course. Approximately 40 REALTORS® and guests hit the links to benefit the Waskoosis Safe Shelter.
Individual prizes were offered and every golfer was a winner. As well, on three separate holes golfers had the chance to win a 2007 Ford Focus or two $10,000 prizes for a hole-in-one. While several shots came close, those prizes remained unclaimed. The Association of Battlefords REALTORS® handily won the prize for the Board with the most participants.
A silent auction was also held for items donated by the many individuals and Boards represented at the tourney. The money raised by the auction and the tourney was more than matched by the Glasyln Scotiabank Scotia Cares Foundation who presented Shelter Director Cecile Mistikokat with a $5,000 cheque. The $5,800 ultimately received by the shelter will give them a huge boost as they provide counseling and a safe environment for abused and battered women.
The tourney was a resounding success and proved once again, REALTORS Care®!
